Genuine oud is one of the most expensive natural ingredients in perfumery. Wild Cambodian oud oil sells for £25,000-£100,000+ per kilogram — by weight, more expensive than gold. This is why most "luxury oud" fragrances on the high street use synthetic accord designed to approximate real oud. The difference is obvious within minutes of wearing. ZOUSZ uses genuine essence, formulated at proper EdP concentration. The fragrance evolves on skin, lasts 8-12 hours, and projects with the depth synthetic substitutes can't replicate.
Spray on pulse points — neck, wrists, behind the ears, the chest. Heat from these areas activates the fragrance and projects it subtly. Don't rub the wrists together (it breaks down the top notes). 2-3 sprays is usually enough — real oud projects strongly. Reapply once mid-afternoon if you need a refresh.
How long does the fragrance last on skin?
8-12 hours. Both Black Oud and Gold Oud are formulated as proper Eau de Parfum at full concentration. Real oud has natural longevity — the scent evolves through top, heart, and base notes across the day.
Is the fragrance halal?
The fragrance contains alcohol as a carrier (standard for EdP). For Muslims following schools of thought that consider perfume alcohol acceptable, ZOUSZ is fine. For those preferring alcohol-free, oud attars are the alternative — though we don't currently produce these.
Can women wear ZOUSZ fragrances?
Yes. Oud is traditionally unisex. ZOUSZ is positioned around men's grooming, but the fragrances themselves work beautifully on women who appreciate deep, complex scents.
What's the difference between EdP and EdT?
Eau de Parfum (EdP) has a higher concentration of fragrance oils — typically 15-20% — giving longer wear and stronger projection. Eau de Toilette (EdT) is around 5-15%. ZOUSZ is EdP only.
